20th May
2013
Welcome to
this week’s edition of your weekly article, BULLieve.
I would like
to quickly apologise regarding the last edition, sorry but I have had a lot
going on and simply didn’t and couldn’t find the time.
I will start
with a very quick recap. We played Leeds at home and, yes we lost. We don’t
have a big squad and we are in a transition period which is going to take time,
years to be exact. We should be under no illusions of being a top 3 side and we
look on course to squeeze into the play offs this season. This year is not our
year for the Tetley’s Challenge Cup as we were drawn against London Broncos and
yep, we lost.
It’s not the
be all and end all as we are in a strong position in Super League, a far stronger
position than we have been in for a fair few seasons now. Francis Cummins is
doing a superb job with the players he has. Speaking of players, we have signed
Jacob Fairbank on loan from Huddersfield Giants.
The RFL have
finally decided our future, we have been granted a super league licence until
the end of the 2014 season. Great news for the immediate future, we need to
keep going how we are and things could be going our way.
More great
news regarding signing players; it was revealed that Jamie Foster has signed a
contract for the next 2 years. Jamie, who is currently injured, had this to
say, “It’s a massive confidence boost for me to get this new contract. The deal
was very easy to agree and I was quick to sign on the dotted line. I’m just
really excited about what the future holds now. We know it’s a building process
here at Bradford to challenge the big clubs again but we’re all hungry for it.
I think if you have the hunger then you’re halfway there already”. Thank you
Jamie, it is fantastic to see a player of your ability staying with us and
having a vision for the future.
Friday was
game day. The Bulls travelled over the Pennines to face Brian Noble’s Salford
City Reds. Kick off was delayed due to yet another accident on the M62, now
dubbed ‘the biggest car park in England’. The Bulls longest serving player,
Jamie Langley, made his 250th appearance in a game which saw the
Bulls win 7-28. On loan player Jacob Fairbank made his debut off the bench and
Matty Blythe scored a brace. The biggest moment in the match was when former
Bull Chris Nero was down and out and it took 8 minutes for the fantastic
medical staff to safely stretcher off Nero. We wish Chris a speedy recovery.
Every time we see a player go down it is a horrible feeling. The lads are so tough
you just know it is serious when one of them doesn’t get back up. Our sport is
rough and tough and so fast paced, that’s what makes it stand out from the
rest. It’s great that the Bulls have got
back to winning ways and this should boost confidence going into this weekend’s
Magic weekend where the Bulls will take on Jacob Fairbanks parent club,
Huddersfield Giants.
Saturday was
also game day for our under 19’s who took on Sheffield Eagles at the Don Valley
Stadium for the last time, due to the stadium being redeveloped. The Bulls took
control from the 1st minute with Todd Binns and Jarrod Ward both
scoring hat tricks in a game which was won with an impressive score of 20-66.
These lads are the future Bulls and we should back them all the way. Well done
lads great game.
Thursday
will see another fans forum held by Omar Khan and Gerry Sutcliffe in the coral
stand from 7pm onwards. If you would like a question answered then please email
stuart.duffy@bradfordbulls.co.uk before Thursday.
By now, you
will have all heard about our newly named popular terrace, the BedzRus
Terrace. Here is a piece on the company:
At BedzRus
our two biggest passions are beds and the local rugby league team, Bradford
Bulls – so as the best way of marking our 10th anniversary, we’ve decided to
combine the two. We’re proud to announce that we have agreed a two-year deal to
sponsor Terrace 1 at Odsal Stadium, the home of the Bradford Bulls.
The new ‘BedzRus Terrace’ was officially
unveiled on Friday evening, May 3rd, at the local derby between the Bulls and
Leeds Rhinos.
Mark Moore of BedzRus, said: “We are very
pleased to be celebrating 10 years as one of the country’s leading online children’s
bed retailers and our new 2 year partnership with Bradford Bulls. As
enthusiastic supporters of the Bradford Bulls, sponsoring the terrace is our
way of giving something back to a community that has served us so well over the
years.”
“We’ll be very proud to see the BedzRus name
at Odsal and hope it inspires them on for the rest of the season!”
Our decade in business has been a memorable
one for us and a cost-effective one for our customers. We set out with a
mission to offer the cheapest beds around, and ten years later, that is what we
have achieved. However, we feel that our biggest contribution to the Bradford
community is ensuring that our customers are getting the very lowest prices on
beds and mattresses, so we know for sure that we offer the best value anywhere
online.
There are many other reasons why we continue
to be such a popular choice for cheap beds. The first is our free and flexible
delivery service – our customers choose when they will receive their new bed or
mattress, not us. We also have a full customer support service, giving
customers the reassurance and support of a trained customer service assistant
at the end of the phone when they most need it.
We have a showroom based in Bradford that
means customers can come and try before they buy – and get one-on-one guidance
from our expert staff about the best bed for them. Even if customers can’t make
it to Bradford, our website’s Live Help service gives them online access to
instant help and advice from one of our trained team. We hope that our latest
involvement with the Bradford Bulls is a sign of our true dedication to
providing the best value and service to our customers in Bradford and will form
a long and lasting relationship with the community.
BedzRus are
also on Facebook and Twitter. The Facebook page can be found here, https://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/pages/BedzRus/98238421261?fref=ts and the Twitter account is @bedzrus
please would you follow them? Currently BedzRus are holding a competition for
the 80’s concert at the Provident Stadium on Saturday. To be in with a chance
to win a pair of tickets, all you have to do is “like” their page on Facebook,
then “like” and share the 80’s Strikes Back flyer on the page. Winners will be
announced on Wednesday at 4pm – GOOD LUCK. I can proudly say that I helped out
painting the terrace and personally think it looks superb. It breathes life
into a terrace which has been the same for over 10 years. What do you think to
the terrace? Let us know on either of the links above or, why not tell me on
twitter @bullieve2013 or on the dedicated Facebook group for BULLieve here, https://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/groups/440032066068082/
I hope that
whatever you are doing this coming weekend, may it be Magic weekend or
attending the 80’s concert that, you have a brilliant time and safe journey to
and from your chosen venue.
And of course a massive thank you to everyone
who has taken their time to read this week’s BULLieve, have a great week and,
until next week, don’t stop BULLieving.
