Weekly Recap

It's that time of the year again where speculation and rumours fly about, yes that's right its the off season.
Although people think not a right lot goes on and the players just go on holiday or have a week or two on the booze, that is not the case at the bulls.
Just last week the boys ( or most of the them) headed back to the newly painted Tong training ground for the pre-season training.

This year the lads enjoyed a bonding session by tackling a local fly-tipping hot spot after tackling a 25 mile trek along the Leeds-Liverpool canal.
The lads then helped to rid the fly-tipping hot spot of old window frames and car tyres and cutting down bushes and hedges.
Such was the hard work that the squad and members of the local community filled a large skip and over 20 bags in just under 2 hours leaving the area pristine.
Well that's one way to start the pre-season and can only serve a great purpose in the gelling of the lad's.

One bit of bad news is that Mark Offerdahl who was initially offered a one year deal has now been withdrawn. Due to a reoccurring injury, Mark was not able to make pre-season training so is now not a member of the squad. Mark is still registered with us and if he can prove his fitness he could be re-signed in the future but the bulls are in no rush.
On the back of all this are exclusive interviews with our new signings on the official bulls website all very positive with the lads raring to go. You can read the interviews HERE

The bulls Big One Lottery is looking for new members. You can join the many winners by signing up to the lottery online on the bulls website. The latest winner's are HERE

With the recent Grand Final having just taken place and being slightly overshadowed by certain, events we thought it may be nice to look back at one of our own Grand Finals, which can you believe is over 10 years ago.  Time certainly passes by quickly and who would have thought that we would face life in the championship all those years ago. So here's a quick look back at the final of which the mighty Bulls were the all conquering side in every competition of this year.

Bradford Bulls became the 1st team of the modern era to complete the treble in 2003 of all domestic honours, Super league Shield, Challenge Cup and the Grand Final. Of course who can fail to remember the Challenge cup when actually possibly the biggest talking point turned out to be Sinfield from the Rhinos not taking the 2 which would have tied the game at 22-22. It also completed the first "treble" for the Bulls  as they are the only club to win the Challenge Cup in 3 different countries. However that was the start of the Bulls incredible year. Bradford finished top of the pile by the time the domestic season had finished and had the luxury of a weeks rest before once again facing arch rivals Leeds Rhinos in amazingly the 5th time in the same season. Once again the sheer power, pace and pure strength of the Bulls were just no match for our neighbours and a 30-14 victory ensured another visit to Old Trafford.

65,537 packed into Old Trafford to see The Bulls on there mission for the "treble" with only Wigan warriors standing in there way. Wigan took an early 6 point advantage but it was Bradford who clawed there way back into the game with 2 penalties just before half time. After the half time break it was the Bulls who run away with the game, culminating in a typical Jimmy Lowes try at the end burrowing over the line with a whole load of Wigan defence in attendance sending the Bulls fans into raptures. The game finished 25-12 with the other scorers being Stuart Reardon, Shontayne Hape, once again Paul Deacon was instrumental with the boot. The Harry Sunderland winner being Stuart Reardon. Not failing to mention the Wigan tries coming from Danny Tickle and Kris Radlinski, conversions Andy Farrell (2).

2004 started in similar fashion to how 2003 ended with the Bulls demolishing Australian side and NRL Champions Penrith Panthers 22-4 at the then Mcalpine Stadium. Since Reardon's heroics in the  Grand final he has now gone onto become a hugely successful model and has featured on the cover of a few books one in particular Raced which is a contemporary novel by K.Bromberg. There is a pic for the lady readers below. We hope you like.

                                                                     Wigan Warriors
